research for children.

On August 30th, 2004, Chloe was born with serious and complex congenital heart defects. After undergoing several medical procedures and two open-heart surgeries, our sweet baby girl earned her angel wings. Nothing could have prepared us for what lied ahead. Watching her fight for her life would change us for the rest of our lives. It left our family with broken hearts, but also with the will and determination to make a difference.

Chloe’s battle against heart defects has really only just begun. CHDs are currently considered the most common and most fatal of all birth defects. 1 in 85 children will be born with some type of congenital heart defect in North America.

Now we fight for all heart babies and their families by supporting research initiatives in the area of pediatric congenital heart defects through the Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund. We have been working to raise hope for these precious and tiny hearts since late 2004.

Wallace will drive the No. 28 Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund Chevrolet in Saturday’s O’Reilly 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Texas Motor Speedway.

(PRWEB) April 12, 2010 — The Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund has partnered with driver Kenny Wallace and the Jay Robinson Racing No. 28 Chevrolet for this Saturday’s O’Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. Wallace and the team will work hard to bring awareness, and donations, to the leading birth defect affecting our children—congenital heart defects. “I am honored to represent the Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund this weekend at TMS,” said Wallace. “I have three daughters, and this cause is very dear to me. We’re hoping to raise awareness about Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), and how through research and donations we can help these children live long and productive lives.”

“We could not be more thrilled about the opportunity to partner with Kenny Wallace, a longtime fan-favorite in NASCAR, as well as Jay Robinson Racing for the upcoming Texas race. With partnerships such as this and the support of our fellow NASCAR fans, we have the potential to help more children win the battle against heart defects while allowing more parents to watch their beautiful children flourish.” said Michelle Duyck of the Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund.

You can receive information on the Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund by logging onto the Web site www.hope4tinyhearts.com. Additionally, you can follow Kenny Wallace on Facebook and Twitter for more information on the Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund throughout the week, and racing weekend.

About the Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund:

According to the American Heart Association, one million Americans have a congenital heart defect. Recent research reports one out of every 85 babies are born with heart defects each year in the U.S. And, nearly twice as many children die from congenital heart disease in the U.S. each year as die from all forms of childhood cancers combined.

The Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund was established in memory of Chloe by her parents Michelle and Joel Duyck in 2005. Chloe was born on August 30, 2004, and lost her short battle with a congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), on September 3, 2004. Chloe endured two open-heart surgeries as well as several other procedures to try and save her life, but to no avail. The Chloe Duyck Memorial Fund was established to support research in the field of congenital heart disease. The fund is part of the Cardiopulmonary Research Science and Technology Institute (CRSTI), 501©3 not for profit organization.

About the O’Reilly 300:

The O’Reilly 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Texas Motor Speedway in Justin, TX, is the seventh stop on the 35 event NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. The race will be televised live on Saturday, April 17th beginning at 3:00 pm ET on ESPN2. Radio coverage will be provided by the Performance Racing Network, and Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
